It is time for this years Fall 2008 Confirmation Retreat. This years retreat will be a Camp Bridgeport in Bridgeport, TX on November 7th till the 8th. We will be departing from the Student Center at 6:00pm so plan to be there no later then 5:45pm so that your student and their stuff can be ready to go.We will be returning on Saturday at 6:00pm at the Student Center. Please note that we will not be eating dinner together on Friday the 7th so be sure to feed you student before you arrive.

What is
Confirmation?
Confirmation is a 9
month program.It is a special time when
students will learn and experience the Christian faith.Students will learn about God, Jesus Christ,
the Holy Spirit, and how to be a committed disciple of Christ.
Confirmation
Program
Confirmation is
much more than classroom instruction.It
is a comprehensive youth program that includes retreats, socials, field trips,
mission projects, and special worship services.Many of these components are reflected in the class curriculum.
Confirmation Dates
Confirmation class begins Sunday, September 7th,
2008.Our class
will continue to meet every Sunday evening from 4:30pm til 5:45pm through May 10th 2009.
Each week includes a large group session and small group time where students
can get closer to others and process what they have learned in a more intimate
setting.Confirmation class will
culminate on Sunday, May 17th, 2009 during a Confirmation Worship Service.
Expectations
The Confirmation
program is a comprehensive package of classes and events.It is important that participants be involved
in activities and events, not just Sunday morning classes.There are planned retreats, mid-week groups
and social gatherings.
We require a 75% physical attendance to Confirmation
class.If a class has to be missed,
confirmands will have an option for making up their absence.
Make-up Lessons: Students will have the opportunity to make-up missed classes by attending a
monthly session held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 6:30-8:00
p.m. in the WorshipCenter. Attending a makeup session will count
towards their “physical attendance” requirement.
In addition to a
physical presence, students are expected to bring a bible every Sunday. We feel
this will enhance the class for every student.
There will also be
a class offering taken every Sunday. During the year, the confirmation class will
decide together how to spend their offering. For example, the class could
decided to purchase a basketball goal for the church, buy school supplies for
an orphanage in Israel or help support Creekwood Student Missions.
We also expect
students to memorize the following by

The books of the Bible
The Apostles Creed
The Golden Rule
Cost
There is a one time
$155.00 Confirmation fee that covers the cost for retreats, a confirmation
T-Shirt, curriculum and expenses for Confirmation events.Social outings are optional and not included
in this fee. Scholarships will be available.
